Flaming fries

For dinner tonight, we julienned some potatoes which I then sautéed and browned to make some homemade fries. Because of how many there were, we had to do them in batches. When I was scooping out the finished fries onto a paper towel-covered plate, I got the edge of the paper towel too close to the burner and it caught fire. I didn't even realize it until Greg started yelling. I tried to blow the fire out, which didn't work at all, so Greg grabbed the plate from me and ran to the sink where he tried to put water on the flames. I was standing behind him saying, "Don't get the potatoes wet!" He ended up having to spray the entire thing with water. So we had to cut up another potato to cook. It was just funny, our completely opposite reactions.
