The weather was beautiful so Greg and I headed to Munising to some of the touristy-type destinations so Greg could take pictures.

There were kayakers around Miners Castle, which was pretty cool.

We went for a walk in the woods and it was neat because the forest floor looked like fall, but the trees and underbrush didn't.
|
Our walk brought us to this open area with a cliff which we realized was the spot where this guy killed his wife a couple of years ago. That was pretty creepy. He claims she fell off, but I don't know about that. As you can see, I was pretty leery about getting too close to the edge. I can't imagine someone afraid of heights (as she was) would even go near the edge.

A funky mushroom growing out of a log.

All of these pretty rocks, only you're not allowed to take any of them! Because it's a national lakeshore, they don't let you take the rocks. I did take one, though, and the woman in this picture said to me, "They won't miss a couple," when they walked by because they were obviously taking some. They even have a phone number posted that you can call to report people who are taking rocks.
