Creepy hallway with a really cool floor

I think it's going to look pretty nice when they're finally done with it. The institutional creepy green is sort of offputting.

Photoshopped to black and white. The marble still looks filthy because they've only just stripped the carpet; I took a peek at a floor that they'd finished, and that looked really nice. I thought this was more photogenic, though.

I had an appointment in this building today - over the past couple of weeks they've stripped the carpet in this hallway and revealed this fabulous marble tile floor. Today I managed to remember the camera.

I don't think i have ever heard of little marbles tiles like that. I wonder if there are many of them around? It must be quite special. The hallway shot is suggestive. To bad there wasn't a creepy creep creeping creepily along it when you were there.

I've seen a floor like this before in an old building in New York, maybe from the 20s or 30s. This is down in Cleveland Park so I can believe it could be that age. I can't believe it was covered with that awful beige carpet all that while!

love the floor. It always amazes me how floors like this get covered up with crappy carpet. I can't tell you how many houses we looked at that covered beautiful hardoowd floors with nasty carpet.

Love the floor. My grandparents had those tiles in the bathroom of their apartment in Astoria, Queens.
