Shangri-La: Yes, it is like a custard pie. I really like it because as you see there's a lot of cinnamon and nutmeg in it, so the top crust is really spicy. My co-worker brought one in years ago and said it was an old recipe from his wife's family in Alabama. Susan, it's great! I just am usually too lazy to buy buttermilk.

test pie sounds like a great idea. I think they can be placed next to test muffins and test cookies.
