Distant Memories

Took this one a couple of months ago I believe. The weather here has been so craptacular it's starting to piss me off. Thankfully all the snow we got a couple of weeks ago has melted away, but for 28 days of the month for months on end, we've just had thick soupy heavy grey overcast skies. I'm getting tired of having to (by trial and error) manually expose my pics because the area is one giant 18% grey card. GIVE ME SOME SUN DAMNIT!!!! Instead of a new lens I'm seriously considering a light meter. No kidding!

OK, this pic was taken downtown of all places. Ever since getting this camera in September I've been wanting to get a nice sunset and have been chasing them down when I can, but between work and no sun most times, it's been harder than it needs to be. This still isn't the one I'm aiming for, but it reminds me that there is hope.

And for fun (OK, not my idea of fun), go back through my pictures that have a sky in them and see for yourself - grey grey and more grey! I'm getting more shadows from christmas lights than I am from the sky.

Rant over, I'm off for a Guinness and some South Park, nite all.
