San Diego: Torrey Pines Beach

2008.03.10
This is a treasure and critter find! I ran around collecting around 20 of these, for some grand scheme, which never panned out, and I released them after a little while...then ran around taking photos of them.

About mid-way down the beach.

Wave study.

Today we slept in, went shopping, and went to Torrey Pines state park and beach. The walk from the visitor center/mini museum and parking area down to the beach was just under a mile, and quite beautiful. It also smelled wonderful since there were lots of blooming bushes. Once down to the beach, we played in the water and I went treasure hunting (shells, rocks, critters, etc). It was a great afternoon. On the way home we went through La Jolla, which is a neat area. Seemed quite populated, so I'm glad we went on a Monday, and only for an hour or so. Torrey Pines beach was so quiet and peaceful. There were plenty of people, but they were mostly walking by, and all were friendly. Although we probably saw as many aircraft (mostly helicopters) as people, so it was kinda noisy at times. Oh! And we saw two small pods of dolphins!

PhySpi hahah I love the pic where you have your 'husband' highlighted - ordinarily you'd never know, but I put the mouse over it and it says 'husband'. Funny.

Great captures :):)
