A good friend of mine has this growing right next to the front door to his home. I believe it called Thistle? Most people would probably get rid of it at first site, making room for something "pretty". But he's a little different. Takes one to know one I suppose.

They are Scotlands national flower, and they are wickedly spikey, but I think they are lovely... we have one growing in the front garden, I tell people it is there because it is so pretty, but really I am too scared to pull it up, thistles laugh at even the toughest gardening gloves...
