The Female Breast

2007.08.09
Lady Cattington’s pressed Fairy Book
Even now I feel the enchantment of this supernatural realm and find it fun to get lost in this little world every now and again. The story is of a victorian young lady's adventures with fairies. She collects impressions of the fairies in her diary. Amusing but very slight, really not for children.
The book attempts to look like an old, original journal of Lady Angela Cotterman but admits straight up to being written by Terry Jones and illustrated by the paintings of Brian Froud.

Ok, ok after my post’s of hands, eyes, and faces I thought to post this not extra ordinary photos. However they portrayed the Female breast in a funny, voluptuous, sexy and normal fashion. I like to add the factual comment so to explain the post and myself. (Cabecilha I had you in mind enjoy)

In order to understand contemporary attitudes about the female breast, it is necessary to review past cultural perceptions, given that cultural influences are traditional, persistent and have therefore held some influence on modern Western culture. In the Judeo-Christian tradition, the breast manifested sacredness, and was believed to be the "spiritual nurturance of all Christian souls.

Ancient Greek - The depictions of the female breast in statuary and mythology linked the breast with particular female powers that were essential to the divine feminine character.
The ancient Greeks depicted the Amazons, a nation of warrior women, with the left breast exposed and the right one covered by clothing--the Amazons were said to remove their right breast in order to strengthen their right arm and facilitate the drawing of the bow

European History - The Middle Ages' standard for beautiful breasts small, round, firm and wide apart--remained intact throughout the Renaissance period. This image of the ideal breast, which denoted youth, fertility and sexual pleasure, overshadowed any sacred or maternal meaning, especially among aristocratic society

Images of the nude breast proliferated in paintings and poetry during this period. Often, paintings that included both female and male subjects showed men touching women's partially or fully naked breasts, as if to show possession or dominance.

With the outbreak of the French revolution in the mid-eighteenth century, the significance of the naked female breast became politically charged. The aristocratic French tradition of allowing wet nurses to breast-feed the infant was replaced by a maternal moral imperative.

In conclusion the breast is a secondary sexual organ, meaning that it is not involved in reproduction, but the distinct curve of the female breast, its sensitivity to touch, and its role in suckling infants lend it an aesthetic and a functionality that are distinctly female. The female breast is a visible, tangible and beautiful feature of the female body.

krx72 photographically speaking the last shot is a lovely image - soft subtle sensuality - the closed eyes, the serene face, the bare skin - what lies beneath the veil an invitation to the imagination

Cabecilha wow... I'm speechless... or I was for a while, now I'm starting to write :)

this is a real treat... wonderful diverse images and THEN ONE!
I wouldn't dare be so bold as MademoiselleE... some things are better left unspoken...

and the historical texts are just delightful to read... and I have read then carefully and thoroughly like they deserve... that's why I found out there is an "R" missing in the second line of the final text!

I like the FEMALE BREAST too much so i don't want it being called the FEMALE BEAST! :))))
Cabecilha · 2007-08-10: 16:11
Lumierenatural Thanks Cabecilha for pointing that R thing out to me. And yes they are NOT beastie things by all means as men surely can account for..... ;)
