The 02 Arena in Greenwich London is NOW a famous concert venue. It used to be called the Millennium Dome when it was first built in 2000. Often referred to simply as The Dome, originally used to house the Millennium Experience, a major exhibition celebrating the beginning of the third millennium. Located on the Greenwich Peninsula in South East London, England, the exhibition opened to the public on 1 January 2000 and ran until 31 December 2000. The project and exhibition was the subject of considerable political controversy as it failed to attract the number of visitors anticipated, leading to recurring financial problems.

I went to the Dome in 2000 and it was stunning inside and very interesting. From a distance it looks like an alien craft.

I hadn't been back since 2000 and this was my 1st visit there as a concert venue. It has restaurants, cinema etc as well. We were there last night for an Andrea Bocelli concert.

It looked fabolus lit up at night but my little point and shoot doesn't do night shots.

It was tricky getting a shot at the right moment when the water spurted upwards. It was sunny hence the sun spot but I didn't crop it out as it would have ruined the balnce and composition of the shot.
