Pierrot boxes

I bought these unusual gift boxes from an indoor market in Edinburgh several years ago. I bought 6 or more and used most of them as jewellery boxes for presents. These are the 2 I kept.

They were made by the art student son of the woman who was selling them and the pierrot faces are ceramic and they and the boxes handpainted.
|
The faces are slightly bigger than the pierrot masks and trinket box I posted on the 13 November.

I'm a great lover of art but galleries and museums are most certainly not the new churches. Can you imagine the Tate Modern setting up soup kitchens for the homeless?
