mat, 'ewe' are too funny. and i love both of these shots! such rugged animals on a rugged terrain, true mountain troopers. #1 says 'don't mess with me, man. i'll eat your camera for breakfast.'

They are amazing aren't they! I was telling Sheri that I saw some in Palm Springs and as I got closer to photograph them, the BIG male just faced me, looked me in the eye and DARED me to get closer... I didn't! GREAT shots!

Wow, I do love the first. It is just amazing. I really like the colors, and the look of its fur. (Would you call it fur, or like...wool?) Amazing.

Stunning shots! Wild animal shots are sooo hard - and you've done a magnificent job here. Great!

P.S. All I have is a 18-135 mm lens, so a 300 sounds fantastic to me!

WOW thanks so much for such a compliment on my Big Horn Sheep post. I almost cried! Mat These shots are fantastic!! #1 is defintely the King of the mountian and the little Prince is below!! Awesome post they look great in all their splendor! Great focus in both shots!! I too shoot with a 70mm-300mm and nearly 90% of my shots are handheld too! Oh that 500mm what a joy it would be to have a 2.4 aperture!!! Thanks again..

My hat if off to you. I have said night shots are hard, I think wildlife is equally complex to get off a great shot. These are well done.

Unbelievable - I made 1 a new favorite. You're so right - "ram tough" totally captures it. I think his jaw is even set on edge. BEEE_U_TIFUL.

#1 is awesome...I love how his whole being looks as rugged as the rocks he is standing on. That old boy has been in a round or two and you totally captured his "you want a piece of this" attitude - great shot!!!
