Lovely motion, it is funny that you mentioned the shutter speed and the water looking like milk. Mybigbackyard and I were talking of this very thing not long ago. I have seen some gorgeous landscape shots which I thought were ruined because the water did not appear like water, but I digress. Two fabulous landscapes - both with wonderful foregrounds but in the first your eye is drawn away while in the second it (ie mine) lingers on the rocks and then takes in the whole scene. Water works well in both. I have a slight preference for the second. rolpa · 2008-01-10: 03:25

Rivers are incredibly soft spoken or raucous. Slow to move or rapid. And you captured two aspects of the river. I like the effect of milky water, but my being resonates to the more water that appears more like water. I really like the perspective of the first photo. Nice choice in shutter speeds. Don't know about anyone else,but I think if you make the water look milky in a winter shot wouldn't it appear to be washed out or blown out??
