And for those of you who like myself, want to see some motion and movement to the water and like the silky water look (I drug the shutter a bit on this one) This one is for you!

Really stunning, Mat, I love the second one...the composition is just perfect! The quote is very soothing, too, and suites the photo well. Another enjoyable post...thanks for all of your efforts!!

Another great one Mat, i like esp the first one. The high (straight:-)) horizon and the color in the front. Love the way you can watch along the river to the mountains. I always enlarge your pics i would be suprised if anyone should make a comment about that??

I must say, I am falling in love with number 2 the more I look at it. Everything about it is just great...the background with the snow, trees, and mountains...the rushing river, and my favorite - the nice, colorful rocks. =)

#2 has just the right amount of movement. I really love the perspective on #1 but 2 has so much to look at! Please tell me that gorgeous scenery isn't right on your door step?! So jealous.

If I were you, I would enlarge the 2nd one and hang it somewhere in your house that you want to feel at peace. I would want to look at that (large) EVERYDAY. It is gorgeous. It's a fav.

Beautiful shots, especially the first - the composition really sucks you in down to the distant mountains! You must have been standing in the creek?

Lovely motion, it is funny that you mentioned the shutter speed and the water looking like milk. Mybigbackyard and I were talking of this very thing not long ago. I have seen some gorgeous landscape shots which I thought were ruined because the water did not appear like water, but I digress. These are beautiful and congratulations the second one is perfect as well.

Two fabulous landscapes - both with wonderful foregrounds but in the first your eye is drawn away while in the second it (ie mine) lingers on the rocks and then takes in the whole scene. Water works well in both. I have a slight preference for the second.

Rivers are incredibly soft spoken or raucous. Slow to move or rapid. And you captured two aspects of the river. I like the effect of milky water, but my being resonates to the more water that appears more like water. I really like the perspective of the first photo. My eye keeps moving back and back.

Nice choice in shutter speeds. Don't know about anyone else, but I think if you make the water look milky in a winter shot wouldn't it appear to be washed out or blown out?? Or blend in with the white banks?? I myself like the color of the water in #1 great choice. And hey it's your photo!!
