Waterfowl Portraits: Snow Goose

2008.02.18
How about a sassy/sultry look with just a slight cock of the head ... there ...perfect!

Let's show off your sparkling wet back ... there into the light you go ... perfect!

We'll add a little intrigue with some out of focus foliage, and water dripping from your beak ... ah ... very nice.

Why don't you come up here on land and give me a nice profile. Remember to keep your weight on your back foot!

Okay, stomach in ... chest out ... Work it!

More waterfowl shots from my afternoon at the park. This gal was hanging out with the Canada Goose from yesterday's post.

I've been struggling all day long with another external hard disk problem. Ugh! I'm so frustrated I could scream. I think its essentially shot, but luckily I was able to get my stuff backed up to a couple of different machines. What a hassle though.

Peche Through all the hassles you must have had with your comp (gosh that kind of trouble really irritates me!!! lol), these pictures are so, so stunning.
Every time I look at your posts I am continually amazed at the quality, depth, composition and life in your shots. It's astounding.
As for this lovely subject, I love the stark orange of her beak and feet against her sheer white and the water... what a beautiful animal.
Do you contribute or work for National Geographic or something of the ilk? If not, you should!

focussed Can you imagine the frustration of a computer melt down WITHOUT having backed everything up?! I think id cry and cry and cry for hours.....
Now i know how you get such lovely portraits of these birds....You clearly flirt with them! You little sneak. Does Heidi know about this?
Mind you, it certainly does get the job done. Another wonderful collection matey. Is it all the same goose? She looks so elegant and a little aloof in #1.

lexlevans oh my gosh! #1 is fantastic!! well, they are all fantastic, but #1 really gets my vote! mat, you rock at this! seriously, i can see it now - working for national geographic, wearing a hippo costume, hiding behind bushes, drudging through swamps... if you don't apply for the job, then i'm applying for you! :-) and i think you should include your comments with your application - haha, i love the humor!

lexlevans · 2008-02-19: 11:53
