We'll add a little intrigue with some out of focus foliage, and water dripping from your beak ... ah ... very nice.

Why don't you come up here on land and give me a nice profile. Remember to keep your weight on your back foot!

Through all the hassles you must have had with your comp (gosh that kind of trouble really irritates me!!! lol), these pictures are so, so stunning. Every time I look at your posts I am continually amazed at the quality, depth, composition and life in your shots. It's astounding. As for this lovely subject, I love the stark orange of her beak and feet against her sheer white and the water... what a beautiful animal. Do you contribute or work for National Geographic or something of the ilk? If not, you should!

Can you imagine the frustration of a computer melt down WITHOUT having backed everything up?! I think id cry and cry and cry for hours..... Now i know how you get such lovely portraits of these birds....You clearly flirt with them! You little sneak. Does Heidi know about this? Mind you, it certainly does get the job done. Another wonderful collection matey. Is it all the same goose? She looks so elegant and a little aloof in #1.

oh my gosh! #1 is fantastic!! well, they are all fantastic, but #1 really gets my vote! mat, you rock at this! seriously, i can see it now - working for national geographic, wearing a hippo costume, hiding behind bushes, drudging through swamps... if you don't apply for the job, then i'm applying for you! :-) and i think you should include your comments with your application - haha, i love the humor!

WOW!!!!!!! I've missed so much here over the past couple of days. #1 just went in my faves. This is a BEAUTIFUL series! #3 sure has a neat look to it. All of them are beautifully composed. You get a big smack on the back from me for all of these! Do you belong to Costco? They have really good prices on My Book external HDs.
