This is the look I got when I was getting a little TOO close for her! Can't you just see the attitude?!
|
Imagine how close you have to be, albeit with a 300mm lens, to get the entire head and beak in a landscape shot?
|
Look at the beautiful downy feathers she's used to build her nest. Man, I just think she's gorgeous!
|
Taken today ... and probably my favorite of the set. I love the little feather sticking up from her back ... and the feathers sticking out of her beak.
|
|
wow Mat I am SO impressed .. I mean really ..I have never seen more beautiful and sharp shots of geese .. these are awesome like you.. I love 9 and saved it :)

These are so awesome. Amazing. I've never been able to take any like this. I can't wait to see the goslings either, because I know you'll do an incredible job capturing them. :)

Wow, she let you get incredibly close! She is a stunner. Her feathers are gorgeous! You did a great job capturing her beauty. #7 (the reflection in her eye is amazing) and #9 (for the tufts of feathers too) are my favorites. And love her feet. :) I hope you get a chance to capture her goslings with your lens! Thanks for the shout out, Mat!

Oh, yes, can't wait to see the little ones. I imagine they will be so cute!! If you ever want to shoot geese, ducks and other birds, the entrance to Sunrise up here has a TON!!! By the fountains. They never leave. Just watch where you step.

I enlarged #7 and found a very nice little reflection hiding in goosey's eye ;) I love the fact that you refer to momma goose as a "little darling"..hehe...very sweet indeed....Seems like she may have built some sort of trsuting relationship with you and she may just let you get exclusive pics of her little babies when the time comes. I just hope she doesnt charge millions like Jennifer Lopez for those first baby shots;) My fav in this set has to be the last one......animals feet fascinate me ;)

Wow! I love 3, 5, and 9, but they are all fantastic! That's the closest I ever want to get to a goose, and I can safely say the closest up I've ever seen one! Awesome!

I am so not a bird person and #1 has me screaming. It's beautiful with the reflections. The blue-green water is amazing! Nice work!

Ooooooh Mat!! :) Great great set! I was starting to miss the water fowl sets you had going there for a while ;) It's hard to pick a favourite, and as I view these shots I'm getting lens envy... from the exif I can see 300mm - what sort is it, if you don't mind me asking? Personally, I love #10 - the detail and texture of the feet against the muted ground just has so much clarity on contrast. Nice one! :D
