Wedding Photography 102: Dave & Angie Hinshaw Part II

2008.04.17
Yes, that is a Camo garter! Home made by my sis-in-law! Like my squirrel post of a while back ... "You might be a redneck if ..." =)

Fun details only caught by more than 1 cam.

The groom wanted to match his shoelaces with his shirt and tie! Now that's what I call GQ!

Preparation

Not sure who or what they were looking at!

D'oh ... It fit when we bought it! PUUUSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!!

Believe me, the noise isn't nearly this noticeable in the full res version. Yours truly taking aim in the lower left! =)

"I know that I wouldn't be the flower girl without you ... but you're SUPPOSED to be up on stage!"

Yep ... need another external flash attachment ... but check out those legs!

Need we say more?

That female touch again!

Flouncy!

I got it!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

As I mentioned yesterday these are shots from our first ever wedding where we were the primary photographers. If anyone has any desire to shoot weddings (no, not 'shoot' AT weddings!) feel free to check out my post from yesterday. I can perhaps save you some struggle and headache and I provided many tips that we learned from shooting our first wedding! (Again, not actually SHOOTING guests at the wedding!)

The vast majority of these shots are photo credit to Heidi. I'm biased, of course, but think she did a whiz bang job! Personally, I wouldn't have a clue as to how photographers could shoot a wedding, and attempt to capture subtle details of the day all alone - even if they did have multiple camera bodies hanging around their necks! Having more than one person shooting (again not SHOOTNG, shooting!) and getting more than 1 perspective, I think is paramount. Having a male and female perspective to the day is cool too.

Again, anyone on the photoblog police department ... these are also being shared with family and friends who were unable to attend ... so continue to search elsewhere for someone to arrest! ;)

majikmonkee Wow, very interesting set! You've got some great ideas here, executed very well I might add. Nicely done!

Lindyart fun things you ..13 is precious.. just like little boys usually look at weddings ..they'd rather be catching frogs somewhere :)

etodd80 Some more great shots. I imagine it would help to have both the male and female perspective behind the camera. What a team! Good effort by you on #10 to get the shot, although I think the minister thinks you are a bit crazy. You two do a great job of capturing the unconventional shots as well as the normal ones. Stuff like #3 and #29. Nice job you two!

TheCrazyCroat So many great and unique shots. Having two perspectives would be a great thing. I love #21 and what you did with it.
TheCrazyCroat · 2008-04-18: 10:11
tbranscum Once again, these are great! Love some of the ideas. I will give Heidi the credit for it, as you did state. I know most of the time, you guys don't have a clue! lol

PaperWings Very nice job!!

veganess Ah, the female/male thing explains all those little details (I was wondering where you came up with some of those ideas). Autumn had 2 photographers, one male and one female, and they shot some of the same pics, but from different perspectives, and different angles, which was nice. Heidi take angles and shots like Autumn likes, things that no one ever notices, but they are nice for the bride to look back on. Well done, you two!!

aurian On another note entirely, yes I did see the post in the middle about the goose eggs! But glad I didn't skip over this one, as I love watching the capture of a wedding. Congratulations on a wonderful set, and a great person to learn from. :)

picturemom Great set - I've done several weddings myself and they make me sooo nervous. I have decided only to do outside weddings now - I don't feel I have the necessary lighting to do the job I really want to, especially in some of the smaller older churches around here, lots of heavy wood, dark colors you know? make great shots when the church is empty but I'm never happy when there is people there too! I think these turned out great.
picturemom · 2008-04-28: 20:06
Jacquelyn Thanks for sharing these. I'm so happy for them !
