Yeah for LD and her little goslings. :) They are adorable! So fuzzy and sweet on their little legs. Great job, Father Goose. #5 and the last ones are my favorites of the set. Such sweet and fun moments. Sniffle. They are swimming already!

OMG look at those babies! They're so adorable! I will name them George and I will hug them and love them and squeeze them...ok, I won't squeeze them. That third shot is absolutely amazing. Such clarity and focus - I just love it. Definitely front page material. They're all wonderful, and that last family shot is so sweet.

So cool! They finally made it into the world. Cute little buggers aren't they. You did a great job of capturing some of their first days of life. The colors in #3 are awesome. I really like how the one is totally in focus on #6 and the rest are a bit blurry walking away. I look forward to the evening shots, hope they turn out as planned!

Oh!! That first picture of them doesn't even look real!! It looks like an Easter card. They are so cute. You did yourself proud, grampa duck!! I love the way mama duck looks underneath herself instead of turning around to see what the munchkins are up to. I guess that is one mother who DOESN'T have eyes in the back of her head. Too cute.

I saved #6 as a favorite!! I just LOVE this post! I'm so glad LD's little guys are here. I was driving in Cleveland, OH the other day and a family of geese (mama, papa, and 7 ducklings) crossed a 5 lane highway! Every car stopped to let them pass safely. I was screaming for my Cammie. Great post!

I like this photo-set. Is showing to us that not only the vegetation came to life but the birds are reviving as well in an amazing manner.

Mat, this is so wonderful. Being in the thrust of autumn here, and feeling the cold onslaught of winter approaching, it's warming to see shots of spring, and nothing represents that more than little baby animals - and these have to be the cutest goslings I have ever seen! I've not ever had the privelege of seeing them so closely and in such detail. I can imagine the excitement this must have brought you. You did a splendid job. I still cannot fathom that you wouldn't think yourself good enough for National Geographic or a nature publication. My favoured shot is #6: I love the line of focus, the dof and the tone. Congratulations to LD and her brood, and to you for documenting it thus far!

Is it permissible to say—congratulations? Yes, I did say ahhhh. You've managed to involve a virtual community in this birth and the desire to follow their progress. I agree with Peche—these photos are every bit as good as those I see in nature Magazines. My favorite—the eighth.
