Cedar Creek

2008.10.22

These are just a few shots from Cedar Creek, and the Cedar Creek Grist Mill in South Western Washington. I've been so busy all summer and fall taking Wedding pictures, senior portraits, family portraits, etc that I haven't really had too much time to shoot, just for me (let alone blog!)

I saw this Mill on the back of a calendar and I said to myself: Self? You're going to go shoot that! So I drove 125 miles to spend an hour along the creek shooting a few pics of the Mill and Cedar Creek that runs alongside.

The mill was originally built in 1876 and can be read about at Cedar Creek Grist Mill.

These are absolutely gorgeous, Mat! Water is one of my favorite subjects, and you've captured it beautifully. We're waiting for the leaves and weather to cooperate, and will then head to the mountains for our own photo shoot - including a grist mill as well.

We miss you, too! Thanks for giving us such a visual treat. :)

HEEEEEE"S BAAAACK!!! Well, you certainly are dedicated, with the price of gas, and to drive all that distance just to get pictures? At least you should've stayed more than an hour. Perhaps you and Heid maybe breaking in, throwing a sleeping bag on the floor, and bringing that old mill alive!!

I think these amazing and so beautiful. I love them all. But I agree, 125 miles and only 1 hour, it would have been a great place for a picinic and hike....welcome back cuz....

Glad you had time to post today. I'd say the 125 mile drive was worth it. The composition and wide angle in #5 is awesome. #7 is pretty spectacular too, the wide angles are really perfect for this place. Great shooting!

Aha, thats where you were hiding until now... its nice to have you back, dear Mat! Love the second last one, with the silky flow and those red leaves in the foreground which gives the perfect frame!
