This is 6am in the morning of South Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is surrounding by the Indian Ocean. The hotel we lived so close to the ocean, amazing!
Tons of coconut trees all around the country.
This was the first dog we fed at the beach :) He was very gentle.
One of the local people invited us to their home to visit. This area was ruined by tsunami a few years ago. This family was lost two family members during the tragedy. This house was rebuilt afterwards.
We also met this dog mom with four little puppies :)
The local driver took us to try some local food most of the time and the local people usually just eat fish and veggies, so healthy!
The local restaurant usually no manu can be given. Their food is just some curry fish and lots of veggies, so tasty!
This is turtle hatchery. Government and local people are helping to protect the eggs of the turtle to avoid people are eating them.
Local old lady at Galle.
This is the famous Dutch Fort at Galle city. Sri Lanka was occupied by several major colonial empires that from time-to-time became the dominant power in the Indian ocean. The colonists built several western styled forts, mostly in and round the cost of the island. The first to build colonial forts in Sri Lanka were the Portuguese, these forts were captured and later expanded by the Dutch. The British occupied these Dutch forts during the Napoleonic wars.
Sri Lanka is also a tropical country so we could enjoy so many fresh fruits.
We tried some coconut drink on the street, it costs only about HK$2, very juicy and cheap!
Life could be as simple as this........doing exercise with the dogs :D
They have an election day on 17th March, we saw the people were supporting their candidate.
Over 65% Sri Lankan believe in Buddist, we could see many Buddist temple around the street.
This is the Yala Village Hotel, a hotel located in a jungle.
The Yala National Park is really a 'must see' spot. Many different kinds of wild animals live inside!
A very large lotus land.
It was raining on that day so we couldn't see the leopards or crocodiles, but we could see many spotted deers.
This area was also ruined by tsunami and killed 75 tourists when they were inside the jeep safari a few years ago. They built some foil indicated waves by the tsunami.
Next to the tragedy is just the Indian Ocean, so the tourists were hardly escape from it.
We saw this iguana in front of our Yala hotel.
This is called Green Bee-eater, I wish I had a longer zoom lens.
Buffalos all around the city so they are selling curd everywhere.
We saw 12 elephants around the Udawalawe Park.
One the last day we were leaving, we saw white flags in this town was hung up and the driver told us a very rich lady just passed away ..... that's why.
Local people usually buy some bread from this kind of bread van.
On the way to the airport, this area harvest pinapples. The driver stopped there so we could try some.
The pineapple was really sweet and cost only about HK$10 per each.
