Sunrise from the base of Uluru

2007.08.03

These are pictures taken with a throw-away camera in 2004 (scanned). I was standing at the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Central Australia at sunrise. The temperature was close to freezing when I took these pictures. I was wearing a ski jacket and a beanie, yet within an hour of sunrise the temperature was very high, and I was down to my t-shirt. The desert is a place of extremes.

MiraMila I find the third spectacular, for the trunk that you leave in the distance, the contrast is also a good indicator of the extreme desert.

rolpa Amazing shots especially #3. Just shows, camera is not the main thing.

jetjackson We've not been to the "Red Centre". Hopefully, one day, we will see these sights for ourselves. Thanks for sharing :)
