Day 187 For what are we thankful?

Ambiguity, thou art Canadian.

The American's have a very clear history when it comes to their Thanksgiving celebration. As a child growing up in Canada, the American version was what we learned. It seemed even the education system could not adequately explain why the Canadian celebration existed, let alone why it was in October. Those interested will find a wiki article here.

For myself, I was happy to enjoy a day with my family, cook a massive dinner, eat too much dessert, and oh yes, do dishes.

ArtBee Amen sister......... It's a great fun family feast! The Canadians around here celebrate the "harvest"! I live in rural Ontario so it's always been about "giving thanks to God" for our bounty. Your pies look great! The cleaning up is called the "party favour" .......haha

onlyricky We don't celebrate thanksgiving, but I surely stop always when people say they are celebrating thanksgiving. What am I thankful of? I'm thankful of my parents, because they love me so much and they do/give me everything I want.
I'm thankful of being healthy, and i'm thankful of being myself!

I loved 1#, it made me hungry right now :)

NellyBly Those pies look delicious! Yes, the inevitable clean up follows but the memories are worth it!
