162nd Annual Millbrook Agricultural Fair

This ride will be the star attraction... brand new to the Fair, it's called "The Wheel of Fire"

One of the activities... fishing for magnetic fish

The local volunteer fire department had a session for the kids on fire safety

I was hanging out in the shade when I could.

The above mentions Fire Safety Session... I think the guys managed to get a few words in edgewise.

Everyone got to climb the fire truck.

Art submitted by our school... the suns and earths are from Laci's class.

stamping with vegetables..they were waiting to be allowed to start.

Those who didn't want to make a mess could colour with crayons.

The petting zoo... I always pity these poor animals, somehow it seems too tramatic to put them through being mauled by kids for 4 days.

I think they use the same large rabbit every year, and he/she is used to the chaos.

One really pissy looking llama.

The goats are so aggressive, they'll do almost anything for some food.

Wacky hair and face painting... always a big hit with the kids... and ensuring that this is bath night for kids all over town.

The Millbook Fair is held every year on the second weekend in June. On the first day of the fair, the Fair Committee holds a Student's Day for local schools to come and visit.

Wonderful post - I agree some of the 'pets' (especially the bunnies) look a bit overwhelmed - but llamas always look snotty and the donkey looked as accepting of life as donkeys always do - but great for the kids to see first hand that animals are sentient beings and have feelings…your photos were excellent by the way!
