I didn't know that the truffula seeds looked like that. Go figure. I first saw this as a movie in a university biology/geography class. I've read it to many many children and love the story. I used to have a video tape of the story. It iwas marvelous. This story tells us about ecology, economics, greed, habitat studies, urban development, caring, family dynamics and the list goes on. It even leaves us with the cue to write on: UNLESS.

Fun, colorful shot, Marjorie! If I'm not mistaken, the purple seed is a the famous Grape Truffula that is grown in the south of France - but then, I could be wrong.
