One of my goals for this year is a less "macgyver-ed" studio set up.

For those unfamiliar with the term... it stems from a tv series,MacGyver, which aired in the late 80s. It followed secret agent Angus MacGyver, a scientist with a background as a Bomb Team Technician from a fictional US government agency, the Department of External Services (DXS). He was a resourceful agent with an encyclopedic knowledge of science, able to solve complex problems with everyday materials he finds at hand, along with his ever-present duct tape and Swiss Army knife. Maybe I would have been able to do more with some duct tape. :P

Nice job Marjorie. I watched MacGyver faithfully. Gotta have some duct tape, a Swiss army knife, a length of string and a magnet. I find many of the things I need for a one time purpose are MacGyvered to save some bucks... then... a paper clip and a 9v battery were always in his arsenal. you know, you work with what you have and can afford. with some things is important to have good quality equipment that is designed for it's intended purpose but for other things a little creativity and ingenuity can go a long way. ????? · 2012-01-03: 10:33

NEVER insinuate that MacGyver is inferior Marjorie. Lol I LOVED that show. And I think this whole set is incredibly inventive and creative.
