milkweed inside and out

2012.06.26

taken ouside (obviously) ... no cropping - I love my macro lens :)

These next shots are taken inside, with a tripod and remote shutter release... not exactly "auto".

Back lit leaf... they look amazing. I will have to try more another time.

This one's a crop. I just wanted to show off the beautiful Monarch Butterfly.

I found a spot out back with milkweed in bloom... I managed a few shots before the wind picked up. I brought in a clipping to keep shooting inside.

All shot in Program mode. I'll keep the indoor shots out of the lineup for my Mentorship Program picks for the week, as I used a tripod and remote shutter release... not exactly "shooting in Auto".

I wish there was a mode for capturing the scent of these... just wonderful, no wonder the monarchs love them so much... the monarch shot is a crop, I know, I'm not supposed to crop for the Program this week, but I had to show Ricky, since I know how much he loves them :)

????? Great set. But the leaf is for sure my favorite.
One question. What if difference in 'P' and 'Auto' modes?

ASINUS think that there is no way to capture the scenting from anything, because this "essence", exist only into your mind. It create these sensations and emotions, from yourself. Somebody thought like you desire, that it's possible to keep the landscapes or things "spirit" on a image. I remember that i spoke to you about the concept of "equivalent" of Minor White. It's true? Well, anyway here you have a link about.
EQUIVALENT . I think that these concepts are only a metaphysical speculation really, but if you don't convert these propositions in a true affirmation about the photography, it can be an original form to take photos, because certainly, all images can suggest us a lot of sensations...but have an effective control about them it's another question.

I have published before a post about this theme, you can see it here: WHITE, COLD, SMOOTH.... I wrote my text in spanish, sorry but this theme is soooo difficult for me to explain in english. Nowadays i write better, but i'm afraid that it's not yet enough.

You know, i think that we must accept that most times, others don't see on images the same things that us, even less feelings and emotions.

Keryl It was impossible not to read Enric's comment. I am so confused by his ramblings today, especially his last sentence.
These shots take my breath away. I find them sooo well composed, with excellent clarity, and yes, feelings and emotions.

ArtBee You captured the little delicate flowers beautifully! The Milkweed's fragrance is captivating not only to Monarchs, but to the human senses as well....I wonder why? Wonderfully photographed set Marjorie!
