shooting on location photo technique challenge

My little village of 1000 or so people doesn't have anything famous in it... and I have shot the local landmarks from every conceivable angle....

Today when I was down at the millpond, there was a gaggle of young geese, having a party around a spilled bag of chips. They didn't have any concern for me whatsoever... and it occurred to me, what is more iconic to Canada that Canada geese?

I took the opportunity to shoot them from every angle they would let me. They didn't mind a bit. As long as I didn't get to close to the chips. Typical teenagers.

Keryl I have to admit, I don't care much for the Canada Goose. They have become a nuisance around here - congregating and pooping in public areas. They can be quite aggressive too. Did I mention, they poop a lot?

I have to admit though, seeing them through your lens has softened my opinion of them. I can hardly believe how close you got and the details are incredible! Thanks for showing me your view, M.

sooch The guy in #2 is funny:) #3 and #6 are very good (the whole series is:) This is a up close and personal look that is completely different than all the zillion geese photos I have seen. This should be proof that there are new and unique captures everywhere:)

eternity65 Wow, superb set Marj, you sure were able to get in close, looking at your exif data, lucky you. try that here and they are after you in now time .... well i had to run before anyway lol. You should make a deal with them Marj, as Canadian geese seem to love coming to our part of Belgium during the winter, maybe you could hitch a ride.... or i could when they fly back :o))
