Some of you may remember that last year we discovered a pecan tree on our property after Don cleared away the undergrowth, vines, etc. I harvested quite a few pecans from it..He also cut a tree down that was crowding it, stunting it's growth on one side..Now that it gets full sun it's thriving and we have loads of new pecans growing..A little tlc works every time. (most of the time)

DancingDolphin OH YUM... definitely a tree I'd want if I lived further south!

JustGarden Hard work is usually rewarded. Nice pics Sara.

ArtBee It looks a little like the black walnut trees that grow in these parts. I think I would prefer pecans. What a fantastic reward after all that hard work.

djnana Beautiful shot of your full tree, Sara. They have such pretty shapes. Yours looks really healthy - my mom had to remove hers from her yard because of it's size!
And thanks for liking my zoo "eye" shots!

malquistfamily Nice. Pecans are a pretty big crop where I grew up. The orchards are lovely in the spring.
