In Louisiana in the Madi Gras tradition, a King Cake is made at this time of year to symbolize the Christ child and gifts brought to him after his birth..a "baby" is inserted somewhere inside the cake and whomever finds it in their piece of cake is considered to have a lucky year..This now, anatomically correct baby boy, was in granddaughter Tyler's piece of delicious cake..:-))

Tradition, especially in New Orleans, includes parades, king and queen throwing gifts (beads, etc. ) bizarre dress and parties (more than usual)...
