Loved all the old phones and switchboard..this is memorabilia from WW11 at this base..where the museum is located..Pictures of dances..thus the shoes..and entertainment for the service men..

This is Selman Field..which was the base then and how it looked..The museum is on this property and is in one of these old barracks..added on other rooms for more displays..Our airport is here also..Delta Air Lines began here..Delta is the name of the flat low lands where cotton, soybeans, corn and other crops are grown in the rich soil left when the Mississippi River overflowed it's banks.

The Chennault Aviation and War Museum held a long overdue tribute to our Vietnam Vets who did not get a "welcome home" when returned...Vets and families were honored with refreshments and a key chain medal of appreciation.

Chennault is named for our local General Claire Chennault from the WW11 era. General Chennault and The Flying Tigers were highly instrumental in WW11 as they volunteered to assist the Chinese that were being overrun by the Japanese.

This was an Army-Air Force Navigation school graduating over 15,000 of which over 1500 lost their lives. This was the largest and most complete training school in the United States. This museum is on the grounds and in one of the buildings still used when a base.
