visually comforting photo. a sophisticated contingency is manifested in the rough ratios.

Fantastic shot! I love it, but I'll try a square framing cutting off the white wall... just an idea ;)

Je préfère la #1 : la pente du toit à droite pousse le regard vers la lampe au centre. La symétrie conduit à s'interroger sur la présence de l'objet au mileu... Merci pour Radiohead... Superbe chanson !

i have a conservative view about cropping. it is rooted in Henri Cartier-Bresson's legacy, actually a subjective reinterpretation of the meaning of his "decisive moment". for me it is the moment when the image is conceived, when the photographer meets the subject in a perfect "intercourse". the decisive moment is not in front of the camera, it is inside the photographer, and this is exactly what you wish to achieve and see on a photograph. cropping means recognizing the necessity of improvements, denying this perfect harmony of the "decisive moment". it applies to your variations.

although i strongly disagree with lyency/cartier-bresson about cropping (based on the perception that the shot's frame ALWAYS was a technical limitation of what a camera can ban on film/sensor according to the lenses being used), i admit he has a point in this specific case: none of the propped pics make any sense in their details, only your original "connects" the elements to a comprehensible scene. experiment is good! :-)
