In southern Saskatchewan is a little town whose only claim to fame is a bible collage. Last year the graduate students decided they wanted to build a medieval Trebuchet (treb-oo-shay). What more natural thing for bible students to build than an old killing machine? Apparently, it works quite well too; throws a head sized rock a good 500 yards.....

This is a little Canadian Prairie town you've never heard of called, believe it or not, Cadillac. This is in the middle of a normal business day. Don't look to prosperous do it? People are finding it harder and harder to make a liveing farming on the prairies. The time of the family farm is dieing, and this is the result.

So often a farmer sells out to another farmer and no one wants the old house, so they just sit and rot. This is a common sight here. What stories could these old houses tell?

This is in west central Saskatchewan. We were just driveing along on Highway 16 and my wife geabbed the camera and snapped this. It's a Russian Orthodox Church building. Many of the settlers of this huge area came originally from either mother Russia or the Ukraine. These were the hearty, eager people that first broke the land.

Saw this in a museum on the prairies. It's the real thing too. Made by Minnapolis Moline, the idea was a vehicle that could do the job of a tractor by day, and, in the evening, take the family to town. Capable of 40 MPH, with heater, speedometer, wipers, bumpers, it cost around $2000 new. Didn't go over too good. It died with only about 125 units sold. Would this ever go over at a show and shine today ! ! ! ! ! !

I retired last year, and we bought an older motorhome, plus a jeep to tow behind it. This year we gave the rig a try. We went on a four month vacation and covered around 5000 miles. My wife sorta became the expedition photographer, seeing as how I had to drive the thing. About a thousand snaps were taken. Come along with me and take a look at Western Canada, (A few pics at a time of course).
