This was taken near the waterfall. It's the only one that I even kind of liked. I am pretty disappointed in this set overall, but had to post something...

Dont know why I have a thing for fences...especially if they are rusty.

Yes, this is no joke. This is a residential home.

Did I detect a little "Thelma and Louise" (laughter). Nice to hear you had a wonderful time. I know I saw the "spaceship house" on HGTV. Great shot of #4

What a fun day! Your shots are great!! No need to feel disappointment towards them. I love the fence shot and the first one. It looks so lush!

I like fences too, better if they are rusty! What an adventure for a few shots...and neither of you took a shot of the stuck car? And what kind of people build a UFO house? Is there a story as to how Signal Mountain got it's name? Oh, never mind...you already have a research paper to work on!

Wow! That's quite the story! Glad that you made it back in one piece to share it with us! I love exploring, even with the outcome occasionally being the unexpected. We're suckers for signs for natural areas, makes trips to and from places a lot longer than intended sometimes. That's some house! I'd never want to live in it, but it's definitely a novelty! One of my college professors lived in a house that was underground, although he was a little weird. The first thing that comes to mind looking at your picture there is where does the waste water from the house go? On second thought, I don't want to know...

What and adventure you had - I'm glad it turned out ok! I think I saw that house on HGTV or one of those channels. If I'm not mistaken, the owner built it about 30 or 40 years ago, and it's still decorated in 1970's groovy, right down to the deep shag carpeting.

this is fantastic. i love that you "don't have a background in getting unstuck" i too suffer from this affliction. you wouldn't BELIEVE how many times i've been "stuck" in the snow and had to call my father, the expert, out to get me "unstuck". you'd think i would've learned something. i think these pictures are fantastic, but i know how it feels to take 300 shots and have 5 come out postable. happens to me every day. regardless, i'm loving 3 and 4. and clearly, i'm moving into that spaceship house with nick ASAP!

I can't get over that house, LMAO. Seriously weird! I actually really like the first shot, even if you're not so keen on it, I *love* all that moss :D
