I am assuming that this is a work in progress...

This is for Lindy, hope you are feeling better!!

Water fountain

Ahhh, a relaxing Sunday. Just what I needed. After church, I laid down to what I expected to be an hour nap, and woke up three hours later. (Thank you Andre for NOT waking me!) It felt great not to have anything pressing to do.

Needless to say, because I was such a sloth I still didn't get any yard work done. I ran out to the store, searched the neighborhood for a good place for our Cinco De Mayo dinner tomorrow night, and played Wii with Cash instead. Around twilight I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures today. I ran out to the elementary school about two blocks away.

The school is what we in this area call a "magnet school," and this particular magnet school zeros in on the arts. Their front courtyard is filled with student made sculptures, and I have wanted to try to take some shots for a while. I just never got around to it until today.

The lighting wasnt that great since it was about to get dark, but I did the best I could. Also, there was some creepy guy in the parking lot who didnt pull in until I did. I tried to hurry to get the heck out of dodge, so to speak. :)

Gotta run...

Tracy

merin1011 Love these shots!! I really enjoy the bright colors of the last half as a nice contrast to the b/w of the first few. Very cool. :)

aurian Oh how I love the ideas behind these mosaic sculptures! I'm particularly drawn to #5, #6 and #8 :)

oldbabe I've never heard of magnet schools. Very interesting art. I feel like that person in 1 after I've been gardening all day!

majikmonkee Great shots there, and those are some talented kids I might add. I hate it when some creep in a random car spoils an outing like that, I've been there myself (not as the creep, of course).
