An afternoon with friends

2008.02.10
One of the boathouse's workers pulling in a boat for a family to jump into

A canoe (or is it kayak?) moored on the Yarra

Bundle of chains lying on the jetty

Line up

The boys discuss life (sorry, Xbox) as we walk across to the pipe bridge

Fairfield pipe bridge

The sun at it's harshest casting some lovely shadows

An unknown woman lines up a shot... hey, she looks familiar...

Danger!

The top of the bridge

Ahhh, you've shot me!! (see, told you I would get a bad pun in here someday :P)

The unknown woman (who is this person? :P) framing a shot of the turkish ude player down at the Fairfield Amphitheatre

My favourite from the boathouse... the chains locking the room with all the rowing boats

Andrea and the gorgeous new kitty, Wilbur

It didn't show up too well here, but Andrea has a stick she's moving around as Wilbur prepares to pounce

About to pounce...

Whatcha doin'? (catching his breath in the midst of a play)

Oliver prepares to play, as Wilbur can't stop chasing the stick

I woke up this morning at 8am, feeling a bit strange. We got home at 4am from celebrating my birthday with friends in the city, and I thought that maybe one time the cats would let me sleep in... but no!...
After a slow morning, mulling around the house cleaning and tidying and doing all those things you would just rather not, we headed across to our lovely friends' home, to hang out for a few hours and to meet the new addition to their family, Wilbur the wonderfully outgoing Burmese kitten. I was absolutely smitten. What a character! :)
We then all headed down to have devonshire tea (how sophisticated of us hehe) at the Fairfield Boathouse. Great place to sit and take it all in, very relaxing, even with the many kids running around. My 'friend' (hehe) and I used the opportunity to take as many photos as possible, and irritate the boys to no end - no better way to spend an afternoon, wouldn't you agree?

focussed OK....where was I....ah yes...lovely boathouse shots....You were much more inspired down there than I. I also really liked the chain.

Thank you for capturing my double chin in 4. But the main beauty of that shot looks gorgeous. You've done so well to capture Wilbur's playful spirit in all those. 17 cracked me up!!

Thanks for a lovely afternoon :)
