although you may think that your feelings clouded the technicality of this photo, i think that they instead brought to light the true subject of the matter. it's a beautiful shot and a touching and personal narrative. makes me want to post a picture of nick playing piano ^_~ i hope your sunday was lovely and you're relaxed and ready for the week ahead. love & hugs.

You may not have considered the technical aspects of this shot but this is atill a truly great shot. It shows how a natural photographer you are! I really love the movement of his hand, the composition and his expression... Really nice.

I like the way you filled the frame. The composition is wonderful. But mostly, I love the feeling in it.

I agree with both Madoc and Vollenda Jess ... this is a wonderful composition and a shot full of feeling and emotion. I think we all (okay, perhaps only I do this!) struggle and fret too much over the 'technical' aspects of our craft. Photography can be technical, but the best shots are the ones that evoke feelings and emotions, and this one definitely has it! Add to an emotional shot, some emotional text and you have an amazing post. Wonderful post here Jess! Its awesome.

Im guessing he wasnt making up a silly song in this shot...he looks far too serious and thoughtful. Ive seen his silly song face and this isnt it..hahah...Ill agree with everyone else, beautifully framed and wonderful sentiment shines through. Great Job.

This is one wonderfully expressive photograph—accompanied by a deeply felt narrative. I like the way you've captured his hand strumming the guitar. Simply sensitive portrait—bravo.

I love your explanation of this post.. :) Thank you very much for you comment. It's actually a small earring.. it was shot with a macro lens so it's hard to visualize right away :)

a wonderful composition that shows a lot of what is thought of him by you. i always love when people play guitar - i grew up vacationing on a beach where we would all gather for bonfires and listen to our talented friends play the guitar and sing. wow, brings back great memories. you've captured this beautifully :-)
