Il "Nasone" (fontanella)

Qualche notizia: Dalla rinascita dell'Urbe in poi, a partire dal 1400, iniziò anche il ripristino della rete idrica romana andata in rovina nel Medio Evo. E' comunque sempre da mettere in rilievo la funzione di "pubblica utilità" delle opere realizzate ed è proprio per rispondere a questa esigenza, molto sentita nella cittadinanza, che nasce, all'indomani della breccia di Porta Pia, il Nasone.
Piano piano, il nasone di ghisa diventa l'oggetto più familiare e comune dell'arredo urbano romano; i nuovi quartieri, via via realizzati, sono "arredati" da numerosi nasoni; esempi lampanti il Testaccio (1910-1915) o la Garbatella (1930).
A guardarli bene,i nasoni, non sono proprio tutti uguali; nel corso del tempo l'originaria iscrizione "Acqua Marcia" non è stata piu' riportata e alcune fontanelle sono state personalizzate o per cosi' dire "sponsorizzate" da Enti o, addirittura dal fascio littorio durante il ventennio fascista.
