Someone once shared with me this about a year ago -
"I've become much less expectant than I used to be. There's a wisdom to letting things unfold of their own doing, without applying the colours and hues of expectation. That is the point where the littlest things pique interest, the smallest events entertain and life isn't a canvas of dull, enduring grey. Perhaps expectation is not being accepting of the grain of life, the swerving petulant tapestry that it weaves through and around us.

I guess it is really true. Expectation just hurts.
