Well here I am - another Monday and another week without a 'proper job'. Actually I will be quite busy this week so it will be fine - I have a project to finish off and some meetings and lunches and things.
But back to the weekend - contrasts really. On Friday I went to see Much ado about nothing at the National Theatre. It has Simon Russell Beale and Zoe Wannamker in the leads and was absolutely wonderful. Hilarious is the only word and sooo good at communicating the Shakesperian text in a modern way. It is a great comedy and this production (Nicholas Hytner) really does emphasise the comedy to great effect. The best night at the theatre fro a long time and a nice meal afterwards. So a good start to the weekend.
Saturday featured the Stoke Newington Organic Farmers market in the morning. No Pigs feet this week thank goodness but pigs ears this time! I think this was during the time I was queuing for my organic sausage and egg bap! Fish was purchased too - black bream which was consumed on Saturday night. And was delicious, served with celariac and lots of other vegetables - and then salad. All fresh from the market. Meantime I had been to IKEA on the bus - a bit of an undertaking - and bought some drawers- very much the air of spring cleaning around at home.
Spring cleaning for most of Sunday too... but in the evening - after fish patties with kippers! very nice actually. I went out with Neil, Voltaine and Keith for an evening of rock and roll at the Barfly in Camden Town - missed he first band but saw Malificent who were on second - (pretentious!!!! ).
And then the headliners - the magnificent MAB - an all girl heavy metal band that I have now seen several times and am really taken by. Hugely professional and a great set. And they are not too heavy metal! so its good to listen too.
Go on give it a try!

And then the bus back and the discovery that my lovely house-mate had cleaned my bedroom floor whilst I had been out - some late-night reiki and healing on my feet too !
A good weekend ! especially the Shakespeare - and MAB
