I just love the view of Christ Church Spitalfields – its imposing even now when there are high-rise developments all around. And what a wonderful sense of scale they had then, the way the road opposite is straight ahead so the church is shown off to its best.

This church was built between 1714 and 1728 and the architect was Nicholas Hawksmoor who died in 1736– maybe not as famous as Wren ( a little earlier 1672-1723) but the architect of many churches of note and part of Westminster Abbey and Blenheim Palace.

Anyway it’s a favourite view and I have indulged myself! Enjoy!

kimauman Now what is wrong with self indulgent views of a beautiful church. I am sure God would approve of this kind of selfishness.
I was baptized in Christ Church in Philadelphia--nice to see there is another one out there!
