Towards the light

2008.04.14

Monday 9pm. Let there be light? Well maybe, certainly my mood has changed. And there is hope of a new job which would solve so many problems. But, as always, it is wrong to assume things - did that two years ago and what happened .....???
well it was a big mistake to be over confident.

Last night was interesting, very interesting, feelings which had been like a pudding being stirred all day, suddenly subsided and gave way to - clarity, real clarity and the ability to communicate them very clearly too. A very positive outcome.

And your support was invaluable. Thanks!

Sometimes life can send you messages - it's been an interesting few days. Maybe it's all about the Liver Detox? Well... it's certainly had an effect and (like January - but not so March) a very positive one.

So yes, let's begin with the Detox! that was Wednesday night for Thursday and its started really well on Thursday with masses of stones coming out before the early morning Epsom Salts which brought forth more! - a good cleanse ! but there must still be so much more to come.

Anyway - by the afternoon it was over and time to go out to
Steve Unwin's leaving do at ETT - a strangely male affair really - absence of bright young actresses ... must all be working. Anyway the people there did include Sir Ian Mckellen, Sir Peter Hall, Timothy West and Joanna Lumley and husband (the conductor Stephen Barlow who I know well and had a good natter to) plus Michael Pennington and lots of stage actors of note! and lots of old friends from the tech departments and so on. So a really good night - not as enjoyable as might have been as was on water! too soon after detox to risk it - though I did have a glass of wine when i did get home - rather elongated journey owning to roadworks in the City and ended up walking through Liverpool Street to change route..

Sooo after the delights of Thursday night what was there to follow? Not much on Friday and then on Saturday….
Colonic Irrigation at 2pm – thereby disrupting my normal organic market trip.

Following irrigation! And some light food!!! it was time to go out and sample some delights – I was actually unsure which delights, so I left the choice in the hands of London busses – and it was won by the No 30 which deposited me at the Kings Head Theatre in Islington and hence The Black and White Ball, a new musical based on the songs of Cole Porter. A pleasant, inoffensive, little show – nicely performed by a cast of 7 with piano bass and drums – all much appreciated by its largely grey-headed audience. Designed by the lovely Charlie Cridlan who I met again on Thursday and is a delight !

A quick nibble afterwards – where does one go to nibble for one ? well I went to the Fig and Olive, a favourite haunt which is inexpensive and good and was full of earnest Inslingtonians discussing the play at the Almeida, children, books and politics.

Next – a walk to Angel, (quite a long one) the tube to Kings Cross – then the tube to Wood Green and then a bus (could have walked quicker) to a gathering in Ally Pally to celebrate Greg and Lisa's return from four months in Australia.

How fabulous to see Stéph who was such a help when I moved to Ealing and began life on my own (see blogs passim) with a new man of course, lovely!

I spent most of the evening chatting to her about things and catching up and the rest chatting to others I know about all sorts – inc Liver Detox of course! LOL!

Special mention to Jo - you did make an amazing fairy! and to Eve and Omar - you are just.... fabulous!

And the silm Ros and Darren too!

Got home at 5 am– up at 11am – some fabulous lentil soup courtesy of Claude and off to cinema to see The Other Boleyn Girl – described by Grauniad as a ‘bodice ripper’ ....!! good costumes, good cast, but crap screenplay and generally crap and not like the book really either – on the whole, crap! Yes Crap!

Back home and an evening with my lovely house-mate – very calming ! and then an early bed.

A positive weekend
And the state of mind (which is always key) is really up for things - it's take on the world time...

AND WIN!

yessi222 Great narration! Good luck with the stones... oush!

And after doing some research on the word "bangs," I have found that the English culture equivalent is "fringe," if that helps at all. Bangs are the short layer of hair that covers a person's (usually a girl's) forehead. I cut my hair on Saturday to achieve the "fringe look", make sense?

You're funny! I never thought in my whole life I would have to explain what bangs were!

ClaudePechabaden Mhhh...Interesting week end!
Shhhh...... Let's keep quiet and have a thought for the stillness inside the organised chaos which isn't really... Chaos. Breath of life to permeate the tissues of a fully active and electric brain mass.
