Soldering on

2008.05.01
Spotted in a garden in east London.

A 'bendy' bus - sadly not my route!

OK it’s a pun, but I guess some of this must have been soldered!!
The first picture I mean, not the bendy bus! Though maybe…!

I am not the master of puns on Photoblog of course - that honour must go to Stefan!

I found out yesterday afternoon that I had not got the job I had been waiting on for nearly two weeks. It is a blow in many ways, but I believe that things are either meant to happen, or not. And this was not, and hence some other opportunity will present itself. I just hope it is not too long!

There were kind words at home, kind words from understanding friends and it would be nice to think that the bank manager will also be understanding but …

Hence I am soldiering on!

My other little bit of news yesterday was getting lost! Well, not getting lost really - more an absent minded diversion. I had set off to walk home when suddenly there was a heavy shower - those April showers and all that - so I hopped on a bendy bus, sat down and began to read Private Eye (a UK satirical magazine). So captivated was I that I did not realise I was not on the bendy bus that goes home, but on one which goes in a different direction! And I ended up miles from home … and it was still pouring with rain! Never mind, there were some real gems in the Eye; we have an election today - for the Mayor of London - the Liberal Democrat candidate is openly gay and hence a suggestion that he is promoting a set of gay only busses to be known as ‘bendies’, oh dear! Sorry!

I have been ranting about ill-disciplined toddlers for the last few days. This was in Pseuds Corner in the Eye.

From the birth announcements in the Daily Telegraph (a paper affectionately known as the Torygraph because of its 100% support for the Conservative party by the way).

“To Rebbecca and Mark, a precious son, Ptolemy Ned, brother to gorgeous Atticus Monty, and the beautiful Octavious Kit.”

I just can’t imagine these children could be anything other than ‘spirited’ and their parents not at all keen on discipline!
