4pm Thursday. The sun is shining, it has been a lovely week for weather, even the bank Holiday was not bad (it is traditional for it to rain on Bank Holidays!) and life has been progressing.
Well, I think it has been progressing! It has been undergoing a series of starts and stops and on the whole being positive, though there have been some knocks along the way.
It is a week since we voted and (reputedly on the feast of St Boris! But it was also Beltain the ancient Celtic festival that heralds summer and was once a time of sexual licence - wont go into that! ) Boris was elected Mayor of London. Not my choice I have to say, but initially at any rate, things seem positive. Of course it was really a victory for tactics and the power of the press, but that is another story.
And so the weekend passed, far too much food, wine - a beer even - and especially too much cheese - I seem to be surrounded by excellent cheese shops and stalls, all far too tempting! A blog on cheese must be imminent!
This ramble is actually a smoke-screen to avoid me getting to the point! Job, of lack of. I still have some odd bits of work, but I need a main contract and as regular readers will know, I have spent the past few weeks waiting on news and when it did finally come (last Thursday) it was negative. A blow! But then, yesterday they rang and said it might be back on again…..
So I am back in limbo! But determined that this time they will have to make a decision and not keep me on tenterhooks (and missing other opportunities).
Hence the pictures - one a straight path - the desired one, the other still positive (I am really upbeat in spite of all!) but with twists, slopes and other things. And if you look really closely at the last one someone scooping up dog crap!
Which one will it be I wonder?

Bugger me, in spite of promises to ring this afternoon.....
Not a peep! I really don't believe this. I feel like screaming!

Tomorrow is going to have to be D day - an ultimatum will have to be delivered. Life is too short!
Thank goodness I am at the theatre doing something else this evening!
Geez Bob, pray it's not the last one!! We need to come up with something international...you "the CEO" in England and me "the CEO" in the states! Now...just what could it be?

On the job front, I would say "keep your pecker-up" but our American friends might get the wrong impression!
Well being an American, I don't know what Expat thinks Americans would have a problem with over a man "keeping his pecker-up"?
Life is so interesting.... it's the twisted roads that ultimately seem to make us who we are. Good to hear you're remaining positive and wishing you the best!
Well, the Beltain festivals were an interesting... thing. Although I thought there came up later in the year, closer to Midsummer. (well come to think of it, call it a newsflash why its called MIDsummer - my stupidity). Although I think the Beltain festivals were far more civilised than today's politics, much like the "game" wit the virgin and the deer.
