Moon/ Liver detox and other delights

2008.06.09

What ever animal it was it managed to dig a big hole!

I must say we have ever such a good class of patch sweeper round here! By the way the plastic boxes are for recycling - very green round here! Green is for paper and tins and bottles etc and blue is for food waste.

My moon candle made an amazing shape!

Wot a lot of stones I got!

Close up - with 5p piece!

Nick looking matcho!

Nick looking normal!

Art for sale

Fairies for sale - must go back!

Lovely facade!

And I just love this- 'significant others'!

There are some times you look at other people’s pictures or in this case words, and think why bother! I have just read Claude’s blog of her weekend, it’s a work of art, full of insights, fascinating thoughts, happenings and it is so very readable. Shame it is on Friends only – but that is another subject!!!

My own weekend and other things seem to pale into insignificance. Mind you not having a ‘significant other’, such a wonderful description, means that there will always be a missing element.

The weekend began for me on Friday with the start of a major detox, but before we get there I had better go back to Tuesday and the New Moon. Celebrating moon phases is something in which Claude and I are both interested in – and this was a special one – aiming to say thank you for all the things that had happened since the last new moon. Claude had decided to combine the moon with the earth and amongst other things had buried three fishes in our small front garden – frozen mackerel to be precise – and Friday found her sweeping up (pictured) after the local fox had outwitted her and dug up two out of three. So an interesting day - with me beginning to fast and Claude then departing for the weekend.

My own contribution to Moon festivities by the way was candles, one of which burnt with some rather interesting results. – see picture.

The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Detox is not for the feint hearted! After a litre of apple juice a day for 6 days you start to fast, then to take Epsom salts and then at 10 o’ clock a mixture of grapefruit juice and olive oil. Sleep and an early start, more Epsom salts and whoooosh! – well you can see the results quite graphically!

I had a big detox – quite tiring too – slept most of the afternoon, went out briefly in the evening- some safe food in Wagamama and then a huge sleep!

Sunday saw me having lunch with my son Nick, doing some shopping in Spitalfields market – finishing my book sitting in the garden at home! Hooray – how I envy Yessi who posts what she is reading and it changes frequently. I have been reading Alan Bennett’s Untold Stories since January! Mind you its 600 plus pages – but it has taken far longer than it should have – shame as it’s a really good read – very English mind you, but great.

And that’s it really, to not too interesting thoughts of a batchelor blogger, who is fortunate enough to share a house with a truly inspirational friend! Oh la la la!

Speaking of Oh la la la when I started this Shostakovich 5 was on Radio 3 – its now bloody Hindemith – music to commit suicide by if you ask me! Betterswitch to Classic FM who are incapable of playing Hindemith – thank goodness!! And introduce everything with that rise in the tone of the voice that signifies happiness – and is therefore completely unbalanced and deeply irritating!
