Thursday - off on holiday a week tomorrow ! Wow! Not long now, started to get stuff ready - the only thing that has really not gone to plan is the pre-holiday diet!
hardly lost any weight at all - mind you that will mean that I do not have an excuse to stuff myself on holiday - so maybe it is positive!

And my new sandals - both of which have split under the pressure of my shoe trees - interesting that - but better now when can be fixed than when walking round Greece!

The hallway and stairs at home are now green - nothing like going green is there!!! It was executed in record quick time thanks to a combined effort ! And a new blue bathroom too - stunning!

It has quite lifted me all this - the atmosphere in the house is really positive. And then there is my new bed cover and the lovely sheets Claude has made for me - just feels sooo good!

Busy at work and busy with planning and publicising the charity event I do. So all go. People to lunch last Sunday too - and only me there to cook - so no excuses and actually I was OK - not stressed and generally in good form - too much wine for lunch but I just can't take wine at lunch these days!

Interesting feeling that I wanted to entertain - getting like the old me, wanting to host people at home - and to cook. (mushroom soup, chicken with lentils and bacon and my only pudding! plums poached in white wine and then made into a trifle with amoretti and yoghourt). And more people round on Tuesday - just for a light supper but so good.

But it shows how happy I am in the house and how the effects of all those years of feeling so negative about my situation are starting to wear off at last. And all this whilst Claude is away too.

Out last night to Ann's birthday - a nice affair and a great evening. And the dog being frisky when it has been so ill.....

It is a shame getting across London is so complicated it's not all that far, it's just that no public transport goes that way. And getting home at 1.30am is not good in the middle of the week.
Yes, that was a bugger, walk to St John's Wood tube - wait 10 mins for train - get to Baker Street and manage to get last Circle Line to Kings Cross. Curious these deserted stations when you are used to seeing them absolutely packed. Then wait for bus at Kings Cross - ages - and get 73 as far as Angel and then have to wait again till one going my way turned up - the last normal bus! In London most bus routes run all night, but you can't use your freedom pass on Night busses and I would have to pay - terrible us oldies being out sooo late isn't it ! Oh la la la

How amazing too that on the way to the party last night i bumped into this chap I sang next to for 23 years when I was singing at St Barnabas, and haven't seen since I decamped all those years ago - a very odd coincidence, maybe it heralds returning to some old things as well - all part of expunging (is that the right word) the 13 years when life was barely tolerable.

Not very interesting pictures I am afraid - but this is more a words blog than a picture blog - now and again that fits my mood.

caroleagle well I quite like the pictures actually, especially the Fresh Paint ones. How lovely walls look when the paint is brand new, no paw prints or furniture scrapes or mysterious coffee stains or wax crayon scribbles

meiling Great new colours, Bob, and new bedlinen, too. But the one thing I like especially is the piece of fabric hanging on the wall at the head of the bed –– Indian or Nepalese? Have a great vacation. ¡Buena suerte y saludos!
