By the time my short stay in Fira came to an end I was quite ready to move off to familiar territory. I think a day in the tourist spots of Santorini is fine - but no longer! Mind you I have friends who where on the Island at the same time - in Kamari - and thought it idyllic and maybe it is there.

What you can see from the first picture is that the island isn't very wide - that surprised me.

I was looking forward to my flight to Rhodes - on a BAe Jetstream - but it was all to short! and actually taking pictures from a lower height is far harder than higher up!

And a final moan - Santorini airport is just about the worst I have even been in - its appalling with a tiny amount of public space per passenger and poor facilities - just awful! What a contrast to get to Rhodes!
