It's been an interesting walk, not all the modern building really do it for me, although I like the look of No.6 (who knows what it'll be like 10 years on, but for now it's interesting) I'm finding the pairing in No.8 a little incongruous (is that the word I want? hmmmm, I'll go with it as Ican't be bothered to get the dictionary/thesaurus out). I like the simple elegance of the old lock keepers cottage, I find the strange asymatric modern building interesting, but next to each other... no, the clash, they fight, it's not comfortable. Sometimes old and new work well together and sometimes not, for me, this is a NOT situation. No.10 is now a rubber stamp design, when I first saw this type of style I liked it (there are some very similar near where I live) but now I see this all over, it is "Barratt Homes design 14a, variation 2.5, flats, block of". I'm not sure what No.4 is all about, No.5 is a horrid colour (I suppose the architect sold it as a green design...). The ducks are cute (as always - I hope you had something to feed them, one must always feed the ducks). The fish sculpture (a pike?) is very good, I like the contrast of the sculpture against the rough bricks. The weeds even make me think of weeds at the bottom of the pond, the fish cruising looking for a meal. I would like to see this one as a B&W image to bring out the textures and the reflections. A very good set of sets there Robert, and I hope you feel the benefit of the walk. How about doing it every 3 months and recording the changing seasons along the towpath?

It's been a great reminder that despite what you see as you wander around the streets in London, just how much green space, wild life, quiet corners and historic buildings and bridges are out there. You are told it's there, you see it now and then but forget, until someone reminds you with a few blogs about it.
