Who would have thought, only a few weeks ago, that the UK taxpayers would end up owning around 60% of Royal Bank of Scotland and about 40% of a super retail bank formed by Lloyds TSB buying Halifax Bank of Scotland?

And as someone pointed out yesterday, "WE" the tax payers, now own a big chunk of the banks that we go to to get a loan and then have to pay interest on the money we lend ourselves... and someone else walks off with the profits. ????? · 2008-10-13: 07:47
