This is a old old photo I found in a box of family pictures.

Old Locomotive, YES, but that is only part of the story of this old pic.. This picture was taken before they created Lake Cumberland.

The lake now fills the valley under this train and the bridge is gone. When the lake is at normal levels the tunnel behind the train is under water. Now that the lake levels have are lower the tunnel is exposed to sunlight once again.

The tunnel can now be seen from Hwy 27 in Burnside KY.

Someone suggested that I take a picture of what it looks like now. Today I tried to take a picture from roughly the same place the old picture was taken sooo many years ago..
