The two peasants remind me of an old joke: At the fall of Rome in 476, a huge, big hairy Goth warrior bursts into a noble house where there are only two beautiful young virgins and their aged nurse. "Haha, my beauties", says the muscular barbarian. "Prepare to meet your fate!" "Oh, great, big, hairy and muscular barbarian, do what you want with us, but spare our aged nurse." To which the nurse replies, "shut your mouths, girls, this is war." Seemed sort of appropriate.
