I have always enjoyed photographing subjects that have been worn and battered over time. Rusty metal, cars, trains, buildings, people and forlorn animals. There is almost a heroism that is taken on by those falling apart subjects. But this flower and its scars opens up new possibilities for future subjects for me. She wears her scars very, very well.
