Staying with friends at the weekend, I came across this doll in the back of a drawer. My friend's parents travelled extensively 60 or 70 years ago, including to China and Japan. They must have brought this doll back from their travels for their daughter.
The doll intrigues me. Usually dolls for tourists are dressed in finery or national costume, but this is obviously a "peasant" doll.
I wonder if any photobloggers have any comments on where this doll might have come from.
